XII Century Castle with Accommodation

The Castle was built as a small fortress in 1184 by the Pazzi family and later extended in the 14th and 15th centuries. The current private owners bought the castle in 1968 and a program of restoration was undertaken to bring the Castle to its present splendour.

The location is in the middle of the countryside, among olive trees and vines, but only 15 km from the city of Florence.

The estate is comprised of about 60 hectares of grapes, 10,000 olive trees and native forest for a total of 350 hectares.

There are three separate apartments complete with their own patio, private garden and swimming pool. They provide a great way to experience the relaxed Tuscan countryside while being close enough to Florence to pop in and explore the city.

Symbolic wedding ceremonies can be held in the private courtyard, chapel or garden and gourmet dinner receptions can take place on the terrace or in the dining room, catering up to 80-85 guests.

Rehearsal dinners and Goodbye buffets can also be arranged for you and your guests on the days surrounding your event, also with a wine cellar tour!

Tours of the castle and the old wine cellars with wine and olive oil tasting is provided for groups upon reservation. A free wine tour in the 900 year old castles cellars is offered as a special gift to the bride, groom and families staying on the property.

To reach the apartments there is a short drive or walk down a fruit tree lined road. The villa is perched high on the side of a hill overlooking one of the vineyards and olive groves. The small lake located on the estate can be seen as well as the extensive forest that wraps around the edges of the plantings. A variety of activities ranging from cooking classes to italian courses, and painting classes to mountain biking. Horseback riding either around the practice ring or through the beautiful native forest is another activity that can be arranged. Guests are welcome to wander through the estate, and feast on any of the delicacies they find such as mushrooms, figs, apples, nuts or peaches.

Even though the accommodations are basically self-catering, there is the award winning Tuscan restaurant on the estate, where you can enjoy mouth watering food paired with our estate wines.
