Paleo-Christian temple in Perugia
Dated back to the 5th-6th century A.D. this Church is one of the most ancient churches in Italy. Also known as the Temple of San Michele Arcangelo, this small round church is located near the ancient northern gate of the city, which is one of the highest places of the town.
The architecture is an early Romanesque with Bizantine influences.
It was built according to a circular plan and decorated with sexteen ancient Corinthian-Roman columns.
