15th Century Wedding venue in Tuscany

XV Century Castle Near Certaldo

A farm holiday resort and an unforgettable location for your reception. Possibility to hold your religious or legally binding wedding on the grounds of the castle!

This amazing castle is a fortified villa built in 1424 by the wealthy Florentine family Pucci. They built it in order to protect their wide possessions, in order to use it as a refuge in times of insurrections and in order to have a country house where to relax.

The Castle reminds us of old battles and of famous and important guests who enjoyed the marvellous landscape of the Tuscan countryside and the typical products of these hills such as olive oil and wine. In fact in the hall of the castle there is an epigraph that reminds us of Pope Paolo III Farnese's stay in Oliveto in 1541. Other important people stayed here: Lorenzo il Magnifico, Pope Leone X Medici and Pope Clemente VII Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany Ferdinando III, King Vittorio Emanuele III and and the General Clark in 1944.

Today the Castle is the centre of a modern and efficient farm that produces wine and olive oil and that has improved the typical hospitality of the Castle. It could be possible also to organize the day before or after the wedding fun wine and olive tastings for all your guests!

In order to use the castle as location for wedding receptions, the customer has to pay the rental for castle and a rate (per person) for the meal at the restaurant. Prices are very affordable considering the exclusivity of the venue. Reception (outdoor in the castle courtyard or in the elegant indoor halls) capability: up to 180 pax.

It could be exceptionally possible to get married civilly at the castle which is a very unique opportunity in Italy, where by law civil weddings need necessary to be performed in a town hall. For your catholic wedding instead there is a wonderful ancient church only few km away or two amazing medieval cathedral in Certaldo Alta or San Gimignano.
