Beautiful Cathedral dedicated to St. Mary the Immaculate
Amazing Roman Cathedral in Alghero
Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Church is an example of Catalan Gothic style.
It has been recently renovated, changing the facade, which includes now 4 neoclassical Doric Columns. The nave and the two aisles present late Renaissance characteristics.
The Cathedral has an apse and an octagonal bell tower, which is behind the Church and five chapels adorned with gorgeous sacred art, such as the first chapel?s altar consacretd in 1824 and dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament.
